Selangor: Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) continues to strengthen its position as a premier agro-tourism destination with two recognitions within two weeks.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the two recognitions are the Tourism Selangor 2025 Iconic Product Award for the Agro Tourism Category and the Best Leading Agro-Tourism Destination at the 2026 Tourism Industry Awards (TIA 2026) held on Aug 21 and Aug 8, respectively.
Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) Group chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi stated that both recognitions are an honour for PKPS and SFV. He emphasized that it reflects the collective efforts of all staff, the Selangor State Government, and strategic partners, including media partners who consistently provide support.
He further mentioned that SFV is not merely a tourist destination but also serves as a platform to bring the community closer to the agricultural sector and provide exposure to technology and innovation in the agro industry. "Through SFV, we not only bring visitors to see and experience agriculture-related activities, but also open up opportunities for collaboration in the fields of research, education and entrepreneur development," he said in a statement today.
Mohamad Khairil assured that PKPS will continue to enhance the development of SFV through facility improvements and the introduction of new projects and attractions to enrich the visitor experience. He highlighted new attractions like the Vanilla Cafe, glamping facilities, and the Rare Fruit Garden, which offer agrotourism, recreation, and educational experiences to visitors, while supporting conservation efforts of local fruit species that are becoming increasingly rare.
He also noted that SFV has become a popular choice for international tourists, including those from the United Kingdom, Australia, Russia, Africa, China, India, Japan, and Korea. "In 2025, SFV received approximately 100,000 visitors and aims to increase to 150,000 visitors in 2026, in line with efforts to strengthen its position as a preferred agro-tourism destination at both domestic and international levels," he also said.
SFV is also a sponsor of the 'Program Hari Terbuka Pustaka Imaginasi 2026', organized by the National Art Gallery, taking place at Pustaka Imaginasi, Balai Seni Negara, Kuala Lumpur today. The programme aims to introduce the Pustaka Imaginasi as the national visual arts reference centre, while also promoting a culture of reading, thinking, and creating among the community.
