Kayu Ara Pasong:Three siblings were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on Jalan Kampung Parit Haji Siraj this morning after insisting on going to school despite closures due to haze.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the siblings, Nor Daniel Aiman, 18, Nor Daniel Fikri Norlizan, 11, and Puteri Naufa Raisha, eight, did not believe that their school, Sekolah Kebangsaan Parit Sapran, was closed. Their elder brother agreed to take them on a motorcycle, leading to the fatal accident with a lorry just 200 meters from their home.
The children's mother, Julaiha Munaji, recounted how her children were eager to attend school. Nor Daniel Fikri was particularly excited as he had prepared for football training related to an upcoming competition. Tragically, Nor Daniel Aiman, who planned to pursue further studies, succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.
Pontian police chief Supt Hadzrat Hussein Mion Hussain reported that the accident occurred around 7:20 am. The motorcycle, traveling towards Kayu Ara Pasong, collided with an oncoming Hino lorry. The two younger siblings were declared dead at the scene, while Nor Daniel Aiman died en route to Pontian Hospital.
In response to the hazardous air quality, all schools in Johor, affecting over 1,000 schools and approximately 600,000 students, have been closed for two days.
