SIC CEO Assists Fans During Shuttle Bus Delays at Bahrain GP

Sepang:The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chief executive officer, Azhan Shafriman Hanif, took action to assist fans who faced long waits for shuttle buses following the second day of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azhan Shafriman and his team were actively involved on the ground, managing the crowd and distributing mineral water to fans who had been waiting for transportation. Social media posts highlighted their efforts, with users reporting that some visitors had fainted during the wait.

One social media user, @fatinsurayaa_, noted the CEO and his crew's role in managing the crowd and providing water. Another user, @nrfaofdiaries, praised Azhan for his personal involvement, expressing emotional gratitude for his actions.

@cxingt described Azhan's assistance as a demonstration of leadership. Earlier reports on social media depicted Azhan overseeing and aiding the bus flow management at the circuit.

Fans acknowledged the improvements in crowd and traffic management at SIC, commending the organized queues, dedicated shuttle bus lanes, and the presence of staff, marshals, and police. These positive comments followed earlier complaints about congestion and long waits for shuttle buses.

In July, it was confirmed that Malaysia would host the Gulf Air Bahrain GP from October 2 to 4, following an agreement between Formula 1, the International Automobile Federation (FIA), and the governments of Malaysia and Bahrain. This agreement reinstated the Bahrain GP on the 2026 F1 calendar after a previous cancellation due to geopolitical issues. Malaysia had previously hosted the Malaysian GP at SIC from 1999 to 2017.
