Six MARA Entrepreneurs To Represent Malaysia At MIHASShanghai In November

Kuala lumpur: Six women entrepreneurs from 16 exhibiting companies under the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) Gate to Global programme will represent Malaysia at the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) in Shanghai, China from Nov 5 to 10. MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki announced the entrepreneurs' participation, stating their readiness to expand internationally and their compliance with MARA's criteria to become exporters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Asyraf Wajdi expressed confidence in the demand for the entrepreneurs' products in the global market. He praised the women entrepreneurs for their capability and competitiveness at the international level, attributing their success to MARA's advisory services and facilities. He extended his congratulations to the women entrepreneurs during his speech at the Selangor-level opening of the MARA Women's Empowerment Programme and the Malaysia MADANI National Seminar at the Nice Banquet Hall in Rawang.

Asyraf Wajdi highlighted that MARA has disbursed over RM50.3 million in allocations to entrepreneurs in Selangor, with 164 women being recipients. He also supported the proposal to establish 'Persiaran Wanita Berdaya', a project to showcase the products of Selangor women entrepreneurs aided by MARA, as a pilot initiative before expanding it nationwide.

Additionally, Asyraf Wajdi noted the nearing completion of MARA's nationwide women's empowerment programme aimed at nurturing and empowering women entrepreneurs. He emphasized the programme's relevance in producing not only successful entrepreneurs but also those committed to uplifting the economic status of the community.

Moreover, Asyraf Wajdi introduced MARA's inaugural initiative to provide aid to poor and orphaned students pursuing university education through a benevolence fund named 'Program Dana Ehsan Pendidikan'. He stated that the programme started in Selangor with 167 recipients, and to date, 50 students have benefited from the aid.
