Perlis: The Perlis Education Department and relevant divisions are urged to take immediate action so that building repair work at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Padang Melangit in Perlis, which caught fire this morning, can be carried out immediately, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. She said the incident affected the school's building and an injured victim is receiving further treatment at the hospital.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, an eight-room building at the school was reportedly destroyed by about 90 per cent in this morning's fire, which also resulted in a private cleaning worker suffering 30 per cent burns. Perlis Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of Operations PgKB II Mohamad Azhar Yussof said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 11.05 am.
