Kuala Kangsar:The introduction of a RM2,500 starting salary for fresh graduates entering Malaysia's public service, as announced in Budget 2027, is on hold pending an official circular that will detail its implementation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Jailani Muhamed Yunus, chairman of the Malaysian Public Services Commission (SPA) and the Judicial and Legal Service Commission (SPKP), stated that the circular will include specifics on the implementation timeline and the associated payment components.
He emphasized that while the budget announcement was welcomed, the implementation must adhere to procedures outlined in the forthcoming circular. Detailed procedures are necessary for the initiative's execution and timeline, he noted during an event at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Simpang Beluru.
Preparations for such budget initiatives typically commence in the year they are announced to facilitate execution in the subsequent year. When questioned about whether the RM2,500 salary includes other allowances, Ahmad Jailani indicated that this will be clarified once the circular is issued.
The initiative requires careful consideration due to its significant financial implications and the large number of beneficiaries involved. Ahmad Jailani expressed confidence that the relevant parties are working to resolve these matters effectively.
