Striding AI Unveils New Retail Robots with 2027 Commercial Launch Plan

Baku:Striding AI has introduced a new physical artificial intelligence (AI) solution for the retail sector, featuring two robots and a robot management platform. This unveiling took place at the 22nd Asia-Pacific Retailers Convention and Exhibition on October 8.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the solution aims to automate tasks such as carrying goods, restocking shelves, checking inventory, and store patrolling. This automation is designed to allow employees to focus more on customer service. The robots are also capable of performing repetitive overnight work, reducing the requirement for late-night shifts and enabling continuous convenience store operations.

The system reportedly completes up to 99 percent of tasks autonomously, with human intervention only when necessary. Striding AI Founder and Chief Executive Officer Song Yao stated that deploying Physical AI in real retail environments allows the company to learn from these experiences and enhance the capability of its robotic systems.

The product line includes the H1 humanoid robot, which can greet and guide customers in over 20 languages, and the C1 mobile manipulator for transporting and restocking goods in narrow aisles. Both robots are managed through the M1 robot management platform. Striding AI also plans to introduce heavy-duty models and the A1 precision-manipulation robot for tasks such as checkout and bagging.

The company intends to launch commercial services in 2027, offering options for direct purchase or a robotics-as-a-service subscription that covers hardware, software, operations, and upgrades. Striding AI is also looking to collaborate with global retail chains to test the system in stores, with plans to extend its applications to areas like hot-food preparation, inventory management, delivery sorting, and packaging.
