Johor: Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) has agreed to appoint Stulang state assemblyman Andrew Chen Kah Eng as Johor's Leader of the Balancing Force (Ketua Pengimbang).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johor DAP chairman Teo Nie Ching announced that the appointment had been agreed upon by all three PH component parties: DAP, PKR, and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah). Teo stated, "DAP proposed Andrew Chen Kah Eng as the opposition leader, or Leader of the Balancing Force, in Johor, and the proposal was accepted by our partners from PKR and Amanah," during an event at the Safe Internet Campaign Community Carnival held at Hutan Bandar Putra.
Andrew Chen previously held the position during the 2022-2026 term of the Johor state government before the dissolution of the state assembly on June 1. In the 16th Johor state election conducted on July 11, Barisan Nasional emerged as the new state government, securing 48 seats, while PH obtained eight seats.
