Kuala lumpur: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today bestowed the instrument of appointment to Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini, officially naming him the president of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) for the 2026-2027 term. The ceremony also included the presentation of instruments to various key officials and members of associated religious councils.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad was among the first to receive the instrument of appointment, recognizing him as the Perak State Islamic Religious Committee chairman. Following him, several other prominent figures were honored, including Mohd Annuar, State Secretary Datuk Ahmad Suadi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Advisor Datuk Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, and State Financial Officer Datuk Mohd Zaki Mahyudin. The State Syariah Chief Judge, Datuk Ab Rahman Thobroni Mohd Mansor, and the Director of the Perak Islamic Religious Department, Datuk Harith Fadzilah Abdul Halim, were also among the recipients.

Additionally, Sultan Nazrin presented instruments of appointment to Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad Makinuddin and Tan Sri Balia Yusof Wahi, who have been named judges of the Mahkamah Utama Syariah Negeri Perak. The ceremony further extended to 55 members of the Perak State Mosque Consultative Council, who were also presented with instruments of appointment.
