Sultan of Kelantan Calls for Enhanced Tourism Efforts

Kuala Lumpur:Kelantan The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V, has urged the state government to enhance its efforts to attract more international tourists. He emphasized the importance of integrated promotion, strategic partnerships, and the development of high-impact tourism products to achieve this goal.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sultan highlighted that such efforts are essential for strengthening Kelantan's position as a world-class tourism destination. He noted that the state's unique heritage, culture, and tourism offerings provide a strong foundation for attracting international visitors.

The tourism sector in Kelantan has been growing steadily, with 12 million domestic visitors and 6.5 million tourists recorded in 2025. Sultan Muhammad V stated that these numbers reflect the confidence tourists have in the state's offerings.

During his royal address, made in conjunction with his 57th birthday celebration at Istana Balai Besar, he also welcomed the development of international flight routes to destinations like Jakarta and Singapore. The Sultan expressed hope for the establishment of more new flight routes in the future to improve accessibility and further boost Kelantan as an international tourist destination.
