Kuala Lumpur:A total of 36 areas across Malaysia recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings in the unhealthy range as of 4.30 pm today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johan Setia in Selangor registered the highest API reading at 176. It was followed by Shah Alam at 170, Klang at 164, Banting at 163, and Petaling Jaya and Kuala Selangor, both at 160.
In the federal capital, Cheras recorded an API of 169, while Batu Muda had a reading of 156, and Putrajaya recorded 165. Meanwhile, Negeri Sembilan saw Nilai recording 174, Port Dickson 167, and Seremban 165.
In Johor, Pasir Gudang recorded an API of 173, with Larkin at 170, Batu Pahat at 167, Tangkak at 165, Kota Tinggi at 164, Pengerang at 163, Segamat at 160, and Kluang at 155. Melaka's affected areas included Bandaraya Melaka at 174, Bukit Rambai at 170, and Alor Gajah at 161.
Pahang reported unhealthy readings in Rompin at 159, Indera Mahkota Kuantan and Balok Baru Kuantan both at 157, and Jerantut at 145. Additionally, Seri Manjung in Perak recorded an API of 157, and in Terengganu, Kemaman and Kuala Terengganu recorded 146 and 135, respectively.
In Penang, Minden recorded 128, and Balik Pulau 117, while Sarawak saw IPD Serian at 175, Kuching at 158, Samarahan at 157, and Samalaju at 116. An API reading between 101 and 200 is considered unhealthy, with higher ranges indicating more severe air quality conditions.
