Sultan of Pahang Calls for Increased Scholarship Opportunities for Tioman Students

Kuala lumpur: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has urged higher education institutions, especially those within Pahang, to extend scholarship opportunities to students hailing from Tioman Island to support their pursuit of higher education.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sultan emphasized the initiative by Institut Jantung Negara University College (IJNUC) as a model for other universities, highlighting the awarding of scholarships to two outstanding students from Tioman Island. This initiative aims to enhance human capital development in rural and island areas.

His Royal Highness, through a post on the Pahang Sultanate Facebook page, called on universities in Pahang to assist Tioman Island children, emphasizing their right to educational opportunities despite their geographical distance from the mainland.

The post also mentions that the Sultan of Pahang graced the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) Scholarship Presentation Ceremony, where the two students were awarded scholarships to pursue their studies at IJNUC. The Sultan expressed pride in the students' achievements, selected for their academic excellence and merit.

Al-Sultan Abdullah urged the scholarship recipients to focus on their studies and aim for success, emphasizing that failure should not be an option. He encouraged them to become role models for other youths on Tioman Island and advised them to maintain discipline and manage their time effectively during their studies in Kuala Lumpur.

The Sultan also acknowledged IJN's excellence in the medical field and its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs in Pahang. He recognized IJN's efforts to support communities in rural areas and praised their dedication to the well-being of the state's people.

Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed confidence in IJN's reputation as a leading medical institution in Asia, known for its expertise in cardiac treatment, and appreciated its cooperation with the state government in implementing CSR programs in remote areas.
