Kuantan: A teenage boy is feared to have drowned while foraging for clams at Pantai Balok here this evening. Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Mohd Salahuddin Isa reported that an emergency call was received regarding the disappearance of the 16-year-old at 6.02 pm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, a team from the Kuantan Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene and arrived shortly afterwards. They commenced search operations along the shoreline with the assistance of members of the public. The victim has yet to be found, and the search and rescue operation is still ongoing.
Mohd Salahuddin stated that the Water Rescue Team of the Kuantan station had also been alerted to assist in the search operation. The operation involved 12 personnel, along with a Fire Rescue Tender, a four-wheel-drive vehicle, a lorry, and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit.
