TEKUN Nasional Launches Wanita KASEH To Empower Women Entrepreneurs

Dataran pantai morib: The National Entrepreneurial Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional) today launched 'Wanita KASEH', a new programme which will further strengthen its role as a catalyst for micro-entrepreneur development. Its chairman Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid said the programme is one of the agency's key initiatives, targeting support for women, particularly from the B40 and M40 groups, to venture into entrepreneurship.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this programme not only provides microfinancing, but also includes entrepreneurship training, guidance, and mentoring to build the capacity and resilience of women entrepreneurs. TEKUN Nasional hopes this programme will inspire more women to succeed as entrepreneurs, contribute to the national economy, and become agents of change within the society, he said at the launch of the programme at Dataran Pantai Morib.

The programme, which combines financing and entrepreneurial support, was launched by the Prime Minister's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Abdullah Sani said TEKUN Nasional has demonstrated its commitment to providing microfinancing to small entrepreneurs across various sectors, including manufacturing, services, agriculture, agro-based industries, and retail, since its establishment in 1998 under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

He said over the past 27 years, TEKUN Nasional has channelled RM10.5 billion to 602,059 entrepreneurs nationwide, including RM1.4 billion to 81,038 entrepreneurs in Selangor. For 2025 (up to July), TEKUN Nasional has disbursed RM583 million to 22,392 entrepreneurs nationwide, including RM66 million to 2,684 entrepreneurs in Selangor. Notably, RM4.9 billion of the total amount has been channelled to 474,314 women entrepreneurs, reflecting the agency's significant support for women in entrepreneurship.

Earlier, Dr Wan Azizah handed over RM337,000 in financing to eight recipients from the Kuala Langat and Sepang TEKUN branches, in conjunction with the TEKUN MADANI Morib Carnival.
