Azizulhasni, affectionately known as The Pocket Rocketman, outpaced British cyclist Matthew Richardson to secure the top spot, while Australian competitor Leigh Hoffman finished in third place.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, fortune was not on the side of national women's cyclist Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri, who faced defeat in the second round of the individual sprint event. Nurul Izzah was bested by Olympic champion Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand. Additionally, Nur Alyssa Mohd Farid, another national contender, was eliminated by Chinese cyclist Yuan Liying in the second round of the same event.
