Tanjong Malim: Three cousins, two of them siblings, were conferred their retail management diplomas at Sultan Azlan Shah Polytechnic's 21st convocation ceremony today. The siblings' mother, Zulaikha Kamarudin, 46, an English lecturer in PSAS, expressed pride in her son Muhammad Ali Haiqal Mohd Zairi, 24, her daughter, Salsabilla, 22, and her niece Nor Ain Solehah Mohd Sabri, 22, for their dedication and sacrifices in obtaining their diplomas, setting a strong foundation for their futures.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the family's belief in the value of polytechnic education is longstanding, having instilled a commitment to technical and vocational training in this generation. Zulaikha highlighted the polytechnic system's skill-oriented approach and affordability, considering it the best option for families seeking practical career paths. She noted that Muhammad Alief Haiqal and Salsabilla are set to begin their retailing careers with MR DIY in Tanjong Malim.
PSAS reported that both siblings demonstrated exceptional performance during their studies. Muhammad Alief Haiqal achieved second place in a department-level innovation competition, while Salsabilla excelled academically and athletically, representing the polytechnic at the national level. She won the doubles bowling event at the Perak Games and secured third place in the Polytechnic Sports Council Championship.
Nor Ain Solehah was honored with the Department Head Award, recognizing her outstanding academic achievements, leadership, and contributions to the institution. Muhammad Alief Haiqal emphasized the practical benefits of polytechnic education, stating that they gained real-world skills and job opportunities even before graduation.
