Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain to Hit Kuala Lumpur and 11 States Until 9 PM

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds throughout the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and 11 states until 9 pm today. The adverse weather conditions are anticipated to cause disruptions across numerous regions, urging residents to remain cautious and prepared.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MetMalaysia stated that the inclement weather is expected not only in the nation's capital but also across the whole of Penang and Perak. The department's statement further detailed the specific areas within each affected state, indicating the potential widespread impact.

In Kedah, the areas expected to experience these weather conditions include Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu. Meanwhile, in Selangor, the regions of Hulu Selangor and Gombak are anticipated to be affected.

The East Coast is also on alert, with Kuala Krai and Gua Musang in Kelantan, and several areas in Terengganu, including Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun, and Kemaman, under the weather warning. Pahang's affected areas consist of Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin.

Furthermore, the warning encompasses Jempol and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan, as well as Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, and Kulai in Johor. In Sabah, areas such as the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, and Tambunan) and the West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, and Kota Belud) are included in the alert.

In Sarawak, the weather warning covers Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Kapit (Song and Kapit), Miri (Subis, Beluru, Telang Usan, and Marudi), and Limbang. Authorities advise residents in these regions to take necessary precautions and remain informed about the latest weather updates.
