Kuala lumpur: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) announced its ongoing full cooperation with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) regarding issues involving former employees of TM USA Inc. The telecommunications company emphasized its commitment to aiding the investigation as it unfolds.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, TM had previously initiated its own investigation due to suspicions of misconduct by certain individuals within TM USA. This investigation resulted in the dismissal of those involved, and TM subsequently shared its findings with the relevant authorities. The DOJ and the US court are currently handling the matter.

TM underscored its adherence to strict governance and compliance standards, asserting that it does not tolerate any form of misconduct. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TM confirmed that the situation has not caused any material disruption to its operations, including those of TM USA in the United States.

The group further noted that the ongoing investigation is not anticipated to have any significant impact on TM Group's financial standing. TM has also implemented immediate corrective measures, such as enhancements to its internal controls and governance processes, to minimize the risk of similar incidents in the future.
