Teluk intan: Two people were killed in separate accidents, one near the West Coast Expressway (WCE) toll plaza near Teluk Intan and the other at Kampung Pulau Juar near Kampung Gajah.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad detailed the incidents in a statement.

He reported that the Teluk Intan accident involved a 25-tonne empty lorry and two vehicles, a Toyota Vellfire and a Honda HRV. The incident occurred at 6.30 am, involving two women, aged 54 and 59, in the Toyota Vellfire. The 59-year-old driver sustained serious injuries and was rescued by members of the public, while the 54-year-old passenger was confirmed dead by Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel. A 50-year-old man in the Honda HRV suffered minor injuries, while the 31-year-old lorry driver was unharmed. The remains of the deceased were handed over to the police, and the injured victims received initial treatment from MOH personnel before being transported to the hospital.

In the Kampung Gajah incident, a Proton Wira carrying six family members-consisting of a man, a woman, three boys, and a girl-skidded into a drain at about 10.50 pm yesterday. The woman and four children were safely removed from the vehicle by members of the public before firefighters arrived at approximately 11 pm. The driver, Mohd Khirzee Musa, 39, was found unconscious and extricated by firefighters. Despite receiving treatment and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the scene, he was pronounced dead. His remains were subsequently handed over to police.
