Two Students Arrested For Ramming Policeman In Bid To Evade Roadblock

Seremban: Police arrested two male students after they rammed a policeman while trying to escape a roadblock during Op Samseng Jalanan at Taman Panchor Jaya yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that the teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle and were detained at about 6.45 pm.

"The duo acted aggressively by trying to escape and rammed a policeman, causing bruises to his head, right ankle, right hand, and waist. The victim received treatment at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital emergency ward and was allowed to return home after an examination revealed no serious injuries," he said in a statement here today.

He further reported that urine tests on both suspects were negative, and the 14-year-old rider has been remanded for two days until tomorrow. The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, as well as Section 186 and Section 332 of the Penal Code.

Alzafny noted that 49 summonses were issued for various offences during the six-hour operation. These included riding without a helmet, riding without a licence, and illegal exhaust modifications, with 12 motorcycles also being seized.
