According to BERNAMA News Agency, an unemployed man appeared in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with the murder of a 19-year-old student from Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Polytechnic (POLISAS) on October 6.

F. Alan Stevekumar, also 19, was present in court without legal representation. He acknowledged understanding the charge, which was read before Magistrate Tuan Ruzaini Tuan Lah, though no plea was entered.

The charge accuses Stevekumar of murdering M. Elisa Jonova at a residence on Jalan Air Putih between 432 a.m. and 455 a.m. on the day of the incident.

The charge is under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which stipulates the death penalty or a prison term ranging from 30 to 40 years, with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane if the death penalty is not applied.

Pahang prosecution director Mohd Sabri Othman requested a further mention date, pending post-mortem and toxicology reports. The court has scheduled the next mention for November 12.

The incident led to Jonova being found dead at the location, with suspicions pointing to her boyfriend as the perpetrator.
