Kuala lumpur: The Warriors' Fund Campaign (Kempen Tabung Pahlawan) for the 2025-2026 period has successfully raised RM1.095 million in donations, as announced by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin. He conveyed optimism that the RM3 million target set for this period could be reached with the cooperation of the public, government agencies, corporate bodies, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamed Khaled emphasized the importance of making the KTP more than just an annual event. He urged for it to become a movement that inspires public concern for the welfare of national heroes. This statement was part of his speech at the campaign launch.
The campaign, which collects donations from August 1 to July 31 of the following year, was inaugurated by KTP patron Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is also the Prime Minister's wife. The event was attended by notable figures including Chief of Defence Force Gen Tan Sri Mohd Nizam Jaffar, Army chief Gen Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan, and Navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Dr Zulhelmy Ithnain.
The previous KTP campaign for 2024-2025 successfully gathered over RM2.19 million, surpassing the RM1.3 million collected in the prior session. Dr Wan Azizah, during her speech, encouraged Malaysians to support the KTP as a token of gratitude for the sacrifices made by Malaysian Armed Forces personnel and veterans, emphasizing that the country's peace and sovereignty did not come without cost.
Dr Wan Azizah also highlighted the necessity of empowering veterans to stay productive through second-career initiatives. She advocated for strategic collaboration with various parties to offer veterans technical training and skills development opportunities.
