Penang: Water supply has been restored to 99 per cent of the areas affected by the scheduled disruption in Penang as of 10 am today. The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) announced that approximately 337,000 out of the 341,708 affected users have had their water supply restored.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the PBAPP is working diligently to ensure that water supply is reinstated as quickly as possible, particularly in neighbourhoods located at the end of the distribution line and in elevated areas of the Barat Daya district. Residents in the districts of Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah, Seberang Perai Selatan, and Timur Laut who continue to experience water supply issues are advised to contact the PBAPP 24-Hour Call Centre at 04-2558255 and 04-5096509.
The disruption, which commenced at 10 pm last Friday, is scheduled to conclude tomorrow and has impacted 341,708 accounts across five districts. This interruption was necessary to facilitate 23 water supply service improvement projects. These projects aim to benefit around 465,000 consumers who are served by the Sungai Dua Water Treatment Plant, with an investment totaling RM25 million.
