Klang: The widow of Amirul Hafiz Omar, 33, who was killed after being hit by a driver believed to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs in Klang, Selangor, yesterday, is determined to seek justice through the courts.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nor Nadia Abdul Majid, 32, expressed her intention to pursue legal action to secure the rights of their three young children, aged between two and nine, who have lost both their father and the family's main source of income. She emphasized the need for severe punishment, stating, "I will take action. I have to fight for justice for my children. I will sue. There must be a heavy punishment - prison is not enough."
Nor Nadia, who recently started working on Shopee to support the family, shared her concerns about the future of her children following her husband's untimely demise. She revealed that lawyers have already reached out to offer assistance with the case. She stressed the importance of taking firm action against the suspect, considering the circumstances of the incident and its repercussions on her family.
She recounted that her husband, who was neither speeding nor using his phone, was on his way to purchase a Mathematics textbook for their eldest child when the tragedy occurred. Adding to her sorrow, she mentioned that Amirul had responded to her WhatsApp message regarding their youngest child's needs just minutes before the crash.
The victim's mother, Faridah Ahmad, 56, remembered her son as a kind individual and recalled peculiar remarks he made before the incident, joking about "a ship setting sail" and "appearing on TV3" during a family gathering. She expressed shock at the loss and gratitude for the time spent with him during the Aidilfitri holidays.
Faridah shared that her son was laid to rest at the Kampung Repuh Muslim cemetery around midnight. Meanwhile, the suspect in the case has been remanded for four days, following the tragic accident along Jalan Raya Barat in Klang.
