Johor Bahru: A strong winning mentality instilled in Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) players has played a pivotal role in securing their 11th consecutive Super League title. JDT head coach Hector Bidoglio emphasised that his players gave their utmost commitment in every match they faced on the pitch.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bidoglio highlighted the unwavering support of The Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, as crucial to the team's success, alongside the steadfast backing of the fans who continuously stand by JDT and share in their triumphs. He expressed these sentiments at a post-match press conference following JDT's 2-0 victory over Perak FC at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
This latest win sees JDT retaining their Super League crown, bringing them to a total of 58 points from 20 matches, and securing an unassailable lead over their closest challengers, Selangor FC, who have accumulated 42 points from 19 league games.
Bidoglio also shared his satisfaction with the squad's performance against Perak FC, noting the difficulty faced in the first half. "The opening half was challenging as the opponents played a compact game and defended resolutely. However, with the quality we possess, the players gradually took control and ensured the win," he added.
Meanwhile, Perak FC manager Yusri Che Lah acknowledged the defeat to JDT but maintained that his team need not feel ashamed of the result. He congratulated his players for their efforts despite the loss and reflected on the challenges posed by playing against a superior team like JDT.
