Kuala lumpur: The woman who was stabbed 13 times by her husband at their home in Taman Tiram, Kulim, last night had never told her family about problems in her marriage.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victim's aunt, D. Kodimalar, 42, revealed that S. Sila, 39, maintained a close relationship with her but never mentioned any marital disagreements during her five-year marriage. Kodimalar expressed her regret, stating that had the family been aware of any issues, they might have been able to intervene and prevent the tragedy.

Family members were alerted to the incident after the suspect contacted his younger brother, handing over their three-year-old son and house keys before fleeing in a car. Upon receiving this information, they rushed to the house and had to force entry, only to find the victim unconscious on the bed with multiple stab wounds.

Kodimalar shared that they immediately transported Sila to the hospital, where medical staff attempted resuscitation, but she was ultimately pronounced dead due to her severe injuries. The family is now awaiting the completion of the post-mortem before bringing her remains back to her hometown of Kampung Manis, Perai, Penang.

Another family member, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed disbelief at the incident, describing the suspect as a friendly individual who cared for his wife and child and led a lifestyle free from vices such as drinking or smoking. The family is committed to caring for Sila's son following her tragic death.

Kulim Police chief Supt Syamsul Sinring confirmed that the 43-year-old suspect turned himself in at the Lunas Police Station at 8.40 pm, admitting to the crime and surrendering a folding knife believed to have been used in the attack.
