YADIM Backs King’s Call For Comprehensive Investigation Into Tabung Haji RCI Findings

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian Islamic Dakwah Foundation (YADIM) has expressed support for the decree by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, calling for a comprehensive, transparent, and uncompromising investigation into the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), as well as firm action against any legal violations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, YADIM president Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom stated that the RCI findings should not merely be made public but must be thoroughly examined by the relevant authorities to address identified weaknesses and ensure any breaches of the law are dealt with through established procedures.

Dr Hasan emphasized that TH, as the institution entrusted with managing Muslims' savings for the Haj pilgrimage, must continue to be strengthened through transparent governance, effective internal controls, and compliance with Syariah principles.

He expressed hope that the follow-up process on the RCI report will be carried out professionally, based on facts and the rule of law, without turning the issue into a platform for political gain or baseless accusations. "What matters most after the report is released is the action that follows," he said in a statement.

YADIM supports appropriate action being taken on substantiated findings and efforts to rectify identified weaknesses to safeguard the Muslim community's trust in TH. Dr Hasan added that YADIM also supported the position of the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Dr Zulkifli Hasan, that the RCI findings should serve as a basis for improving TH's governance.

Yesterday, Sultan Ibrahim decreed that the investigation into the RCI report on TH must be conducted thoroughly, with no stone left unturned. His Majesty stated that the move was crucial to ensure that all parties found responsible face appropriate action and to prevent similar issues from recurring.
