Kuala terengganu: The disbursement of the 2026/2027 Alumni Scholarship by Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) has provided a lifeline for 10 postgraduate students from the B40 group to pursue their higher education.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, one of the recipients, Zaatil Ulya Alazmi, 24, from Gaal, Kelantan, expressed her gratitude for being selected to pursue a Master's degree in phonetics at the UniSZA Faculty of Languages and Communication. The Bachelor of Arabic Language Studies (Honours) graduate views the scholarship as a crucial step towards her aspiration to become a lecturer.
Zaatil shared her journey, revealing that after completing her undergraduate studies in July 2025, she worked as a relief teacher at Maahad Saniah in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan. Her aim was to save money and assist her parents in supporting her eight siblings who are still in university and school. She expressed her happiness, stating, "Alhamdulillah, my application for the Alumni Scholarship was successful, and I am able to continue my studies in the field that I am keen on. Insya-Allah, I will make the most of this opportunity to achieve my dreams and improve my family's welfare."
The scholarship presentation ceremony took place at the Chancellery Building, where it was officiated by UniSZA vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam. Fadzli announced that UniSZA has allocated RM200,000 to sponsor this first cohort of the 2026/2027 Alumni Scholarship recipients.
