Shah Alam:Commander of the 11th Brigade Brigadier General Datuk Safwan @ Asri Ismail led a list of 19 recipients of state honors during a ceremony held to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Safwan was among eight individuals awarded the Dato' Paduka Mahkota Selangor (DPMS), which grants the title Datuk for men and Datin Paduka for women. The honors were distributed by Sultan Sharafuddin at Istana Alam Shah's Balairung Seri.
In attendance at the investiture were Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, his wife Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, and other members of the state executive council.
Other DPMS honorees included Malaysia's Consul-General in Istanbul Ahmad Amiri Abu Bakar, National Hydrographic Centre director-general Rear Admiral Dr. Najhan Md Said, and former Universiti Teknologi MARA vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr. Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin. Recipients also included officials from the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry, SD Guthrie Bhd, YTL Corporation Bhd, and Grab Holdings Limited.
Additionally, the Dato' - Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS) award, which also carries the title Datuk for men and Datin Paduka for women, was given to six individuals, including Kuala Langat District Officer Tengku Rohana Tengku Nawawi and Selangor Public Works Department director Shukri Ishak.
The Setia Mahkota Selangor award was presented to two recipients, while the Setia - Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (SIS) award honored three individuals, including Malaysia Defence Intelligence Organisation cyber intelligence chief Colonel Mohd Azlizam Haji Uda.
The ceremony also included the Istiadat Menjunjung Duli, involving the Orang Besar Istana and Dato' Diraja Selangor, returning after being away from Selangor for seven days following the Proclamation of Titles ceremony. New titles were proclaimed for Raja Datuk Reza Alhaj Raja Zaib Shah Alhaj and Tengku Ezrique Ezzuddean Tengku Ardy Esfandiari Alhaj, along with Datuk Dr. Aljafri Abdul Majid.
