Aaron Tai and Yap Roy King Advance to Arctic Open Final, Lee Zii Jia Exits

Vantaa:Malaysia witnessed a mix of triumph and disappointment at the Arctic Open 2026 in Vantaa, Finland, as the newly formed men's doubles team of Aaron Tai and Yap Roy King advanced to the final, while Lee Zii Jia was eliminated in the men's singles semi-finals.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aaron and Roy King continued their impressive debut at the Super 500 tournament by defeating the Danish pair Christian Faust Kjær and Rasmus Kjær in straight games, winning 21-14, 21-16 in just 37 minutes.

The Malaysian duo is set to face the Taiwanese team of Lai Po Yu and Tsai Fu Cheng in the final.

Meanwhile, Lee Zii Jia's journey ended after a closely contested three-game match against Denmark's fourth seed, Anders Antonsen. Zii Jia, ranked 56th in the world, put up a strong fight before succumbing 11-21, 21-15, 16-21 to the world number six.

This defeat also tilted the head-to-head record in Antonsen's favor, breaking their previous 5-5 tie after ten meetings.

Despite his exit, Zii Jia showed signs of returning to form, notably with his 21-11, 21-16 victory over France's Christo Popov, the tournament second seed, in the quarter-finals on Friday.
