Kuching:Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) is enhancing its influence in Malaysia's digital economy by forming strategic business partnerships and collaborating with local creative industries, leading to new commercial opportunities.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jeffery Chan, MOONTON Games Publishing Lead, highlighted that the expanding ecosystem of the popular mobile game is opening doors for local businesses in sectors such as telecommunications, automotive, and everyday services. These collaborations allow businesses to engage with MLBB's gaming community and broaden their commercial presence within the digital entertainment industry.
Jeffery noted that MOONTON Games has fortified its ties with Malaysia's creative industry by partnering with local intellectual properties, such as the animated character Ejen Ali, which debuted at the M7 World Championship in Indonesia. These partnerships showcase Malaysian creative content to international audiences and strengthen the relationship between gaming and entertainment industries.
MLBB also celebrates Malaysian culture through initiatives like the annual Golden Month campaigns during Ramadan and Hari Raya. Additionally, the Guru Juara MOONTON Masterclass initiative supports educators in promoting structured and responsible gaming among students.
Graws Wen, MOONTON Games Head of MLBB Publishing in Malaysia, pointed out that the economic opportunities created by MLBB extend beyond digital platforms. Esports tournaments and offline events contribute to the commercial ecosystem by creating opportunities for event management, production, and entertainment sectors, as exemplified by the MLBB 10th Anniversary Carnival in Kuching.
Former professional MLBB player and content creator Muhammad Faris Zakaria, known as Soloz, observed that the growth of Malaysia's esports industry has attracted foreign investments, especially after the introduction of the franchise system in the MLBB Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY). He emphasized that foreign investment helps drive the ecosystem and creates employment opportunities for various professionals involved in esports events.
