Selangor: Selangor FC head coach Kim Pan Gon has urged his players to make home advantage count against Vietnam's Nam Dinh FC tomorrow, stressing that a win in the first leg of the ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) Shopee Cup semi-finals is crucial before heading into the return away fixture. Pan Gon said securing a positive result at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium would be important to give the Red Giants a strong advantage heading into the second leg in Vietnam.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pan Gon emphasized the importance of achieving a result at home. "Result is the most important outcome for us. At home, we must have a win before we go for the away game. We want to have a big advantage for that," he said during the pre-match press conference at the Peatling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium.
Meanwhile, when asked about his preparation ahead of the games tomorrow, the South Korean coach said the team has made solid preparations, particularly in terms of mental and psychological readiness, while also focusing on recovery. He added the recent performances of Selangor, which scored 10 goals without conceding any, reflected the team's identity as an attack-minded side with a solid defense.
Pan Gon hopes that the players would head into tomorrow's match with confidence and match fitness. "Before this game, I think players should be ready with a lot of confidence and good game fitness. For this game, I believe they are ready," he concluded.
