Port of tanjung pelepas: The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) detained and inspected a container at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas yesterday that was suspected of carrying goods for export to Israel.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the shipment was suspected of violating Item No. 15 of the Second Schedule of the Customs (Prohibition of Exports) Order 2023, which prohibits the direct or indirect export of goods to Israel, in accordance with the Malaysian government's policies and directives.

AKPS stated that further investigations, in collaboration with relevant authorities and agencies, will be conducted to verify the nature, specifications, intended use, and classification of the goods concerned. This includes determining whether the goods are strategic and subject to control under the Strategic Trade Act 2010 [Act 708] and related subsidiary legislation.

AKPS emphasized that Malaysia would not tolerate any actions that violate the country's policies, restrictions, and laws concerning Israel. The agency reiterated that the MADANI Government's position on the matter is clear and consistent, and any attempt to export goods directly or indirectly to Israel in violation of the law and government directives will face firm action.
