Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today welcomed Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister, Xavier Bettel, for a courtesy call at Seri Perdana.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations, with both leaders expressing a commitment to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, finance, and logistics. Anwar emphasized the determination to advance collaborative efforts across these sectors.
Additionally, discussions were held on boosting cooperation through the European Union framework to benefit both Malaysia and Luxembourg. The leaders also exchanged perspectives on various regional and international developments. These included Malaysia's leadership role as ASEAN Chair and ongoing issues in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the situation in Palestine.
This visit marks Xavier Bettel's first trip to Malaysia since assuming the role of Deputy Prime Minister in 2023.
