Raub: A Bangladeshi man was killed, believed to have been struck by lightning, near a project site in Kuala Atok, Sega, Dong, Raub yesterday. Raub police chief Supt Mohd Shahril Abdul Rahman reported that the police were informed of the incident that befell the victim, identified as Md Shahangir, 37, at 7.30 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, initial investigations found that the victim, who resides in Kuala Lumpur, had come to visit his younger brother, who works at the project site and lives in a workers' quarters there. It is believed that the victim was struck by lightning while he was looking for his brother near the project site.

The police chief stated that the man was taken to the Benta Health Clinic, Kuala Lipis, where he was pronounced dead.
