CIMB Launches Malaysia’s First Bank-Led Nature and Biodiversity Report

Kuala lumpur: CIMB Group Holdings Berhad ('CIMB Group' or 'the Group') has published its Nature and Biodiversity Report ('the Report'), marking a first among Malaysian banks. Titled "Banking on Nature: Advancing Our Nature Journey," the Report emphasizes CIMB's commitment to aiding businesses in identifying areas at risk of nature-related financial challenges, while also offering strategies to mitigate these risks and leverage nature-positive solutions. The Report further details CIMB's approach to incorporating nature considerations into its governance, risk management, and financing practices to bolster the Group's resilience.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Report zeroes in on four sectors with significant nature dependencies and impacts: palm oil, forestry, power, and oil and gas. It evaluates various risks, including physical, transition, reputational, and liability exposures, while also uncovering sector-specific opportunities to enhance resilience and foster long-term business value.
