Complaints of Misconduct in Perak Must Be Credible, Says Menteri Besar

Ipoh:<Text>

Any party or individual reporting misconduct or corruption involving public interest must ensure the accuracy and credibility of their information, stated Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad. He emphasized that some complaints submitted to authorities are incomplete and akin to poison-pen letters.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Perak state government has received complaints which were forwarded to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), but some turned out to be anonymous letters. Saarani stressed the importance of a culture where individuals come forward with genuine and sincere complaints, rather than out of personal dissatisfaction, to prevent the proliferation of such practices.

He made these remarks while speaking to reporters after attending the 2026 Perak Integrity and Anti-Corruption Convention and the state-level launch of the Keep Malaysia Clean (KMC) programme at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan. Saarani noted tha t 30 government departments and agencies participated in the KMC, which aims to strengthen integrity practices, particularly within the public sector.
