Muar: Two temporary relief centres (PPS) were opened in Muar following flash floods that hit the area around Sungai Balang, involving 138 victims from 37 families. Johor Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Mohammed Ridha Abd Kadir reported that the two PPS locations are at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Parit Bulat, which opened at 2 pm yesterday, and SK Orang Kaya Ali, which began operations at 7 pm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the three affected villages are Kampung Parit Bulat, Kampung Sri Menanti, and Kampung Parit Pechah. The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) released a report today detailing the situation.
As of noon today, a total of 74 victims from 24 families have been placed at SK Parit Bulat, while 64 victims from 13 families are being housed at SK Orang Kaya Ali.
