Four Men Held After High-Speed Chase From Kota Damansara To KL

Kuala lumpur: Four local men were arrested after driving dangerously and fleeing from a police patrol car from Kota Damansara to Air Panas here, early this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat stated that the incident began at 2.23 am when members of a police patrol car attempted to inspect a black Honda Odyssey multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

The vehicle, which carried all the suspects, was noticed in a suspicious condition at Persiaran Industri Kota Damansara near a petrol station. Shamsudin explained that despite being instructed to stop, the suspects refused and instead fled, driving aggressively towards the city centre.

The police's swift action ultimately led to the interception of the vehicle at Jalan Air Jernih, Air Panas, Kuala Lumpur, where the four suspects were arrested. An inspection of the vehicle revealed various equipment suspected of being used for theft and housebreaking, including a machete, chisel, iron cutter, goat claw, screwdriver, and ratchet.

Regarding the background of the suspects, who are in their 30s, it was found that they had between 15 and 19 previous criminal records involving numerous offences, with three of them having wanted individual status. All the suspects were remanded for two days until tomorrow, and the case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the performance of his duties and Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.
