GSF: Yayasan Amal Lauds Activists As Heroes, Thanks PM Anwar For 23 Malaysians’ Release

Kuala lumpur: Yayasan Amal Malaysia has hailed the activists of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission as heroes for their extraordinary courage in risking their lives against the Zionist regime. Yayasan Amal Malaysia Negeri Johor chairman Salleh Farmin said two members of the foundation took part in the mission, including its deputy president Norazman Ishak, who was among the 23 Malaysians detained by Israel.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, another volunteer, Nurhelmi Ab Ghani, escaped detention after the vessel he was on suffered damage at sea and he was rescued and temporarily accommodated in Jordan. The foundation expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the government, and all parties involved in securing the release of their members and GSF participants from Malaysia from detention in Israel. Salleh Farmin thanked Datuk Seri Anwar for his wisdom in successfully bringing the activists home, with assistance from the Turkiye government.

Farmin stated that despite the detention of GSF activists by Israeli forces, the foundation remains committed to assisting the Palestinian people and is willing to participate in such missions again if invited. While acknowledging the demands of volunteering for Gaza, which include determination and physical and mental resilience, he noted that many are still willing to participate in the humanitarian mission despite the dangers and risk of losing their lives.

All Malaysians, who had been detained by the Zionist regime since Thursday, departed from Ramon Airport, Israel, at 6.45 pm Malaysian time before arriving in Istanbul at 8.40 pm Malaysian time. Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) director-general Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby mentioned that all of them were scheduled to return home this Monday.

The GSF mission, which involved more than 500 activists from 44 countries, set sail for Gaza as a symbol of solidarity and an effort to break the Israeli blockade while delivering humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
