Hibiscus Petroleum Maintains Stability Amid West Asia Conflicts, Says Chairman

Kuala lumpur: Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd is well positioned to weather global geopolitical tensions and the ongoing conflict in West Asia, including uncertainty as a result of high crude oil prices. Chairman Zainul Rahim Mohd Zain stated that the company would continue to operate in a disciplined and responsible manner to ensure sustainable value for all stakeholders. "Therefore, we must always be vigilant in anticipating the challenges that lie ahead and be prepared to deal with them accordingly," he said at the Hibiscus Petroleum Hari Raya Open House here today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zainul Rahim emphasized that from an environmental, social and governance (ESG) perspective, Hibiscus has implemented the 'Rig to Reef' initiative. This project, in collaboration with Petronas and the Fisheries Department, involves converting the decommissioned South Angsi Alpha platform into an artificial reef off the coast of Terengganu.

The chairman further mentioned that through corporate social responsibility (CSR) and wakalah initiatives, Hibiscus continues to support over 60,000 beneficiaries nationwide. This includes collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the National Planetarium in implementing the first Astronomy Module in Malaysia for visually impaired and special needs students.
