JBPM Air Unit Executes Medevac for Injured Orang Asli Man in Pos Balar

Gua musang: The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Air Unit conducted a medical evacuation (medevac) flight for an Orang Asli man from Kampung Dakoh, Pos Balar, here yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Senior Assistant Fire Superintendent Amir Fitri Salim shared details about the operation involving Geragup Merom, 59, who was suffering from swelling and a broken leg, rendering him immobile. The evacuation was executed using an MI-17-IV aircraft, and Geragup was accompanied by a companion during the flight.

Amir Fitri Salim explained that due to the patient's inability to move, he had to be carried on a stretcher before boarding the aircraft. The operation received support from the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH), ensuring a coordinated effort to transport the patient.

The patient was safely transported to the Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Station, where he was handed over to Ministry of Health staff. He was then taken to Gua Musang Hospital for further medical treatment. The operation was crucial to provide immediate medical care to the victim.
