Johor bahru: The swearing-in ceremony for Johor's State Executive Council (Exco), initially planned for today at Istana Bukit Serene, has been delayed to tomorrow.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, members of the media were informed earlier today that the ceremony would now take place on Saturday, July 18, at 9.30 am. The notice did not provide a reason for the postponement.
The ceremony was originally set to occur in the presence of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail. It was expected to be attended by key figures such as Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor Royal Council president Datuk Dr Rahim Ramli, and State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Ridha Abd Kadir.
Onn Hafiz, who represents the Machap constituency, was sworn in as Johor Menteri Besar for a second consecutive term last Sunday after Barisan Nasional (BN) won the 16th Johor State Election. In the election held last Saturday, BN secured 48 out of the 56 seats in the Johor State Legislative Assembly.
