Johor Polls: Felicia Poh Makes Youth Key Focus In Empowering Penggaram Community

Johor bahru: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for Penggaram, Felicia Poh Rui Ling is making the young generation the focus of her four priorities to empower the local community should she emerge victorious in the upcoming 16th Johor state election.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Felicia, 28, stated that her first mission would be to shift young people's mindset from merely seeking employment to venturing into entrepreneurship, particularly through Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. She also expressed her commitment to providing comprehensive exposure to government initiatives, including access to financing and entrepreneurship development programmes, to build young people's confidence in pursuing business opportunities.

Felicia emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with industry players, particularly in marketing, through the expansion of training programmes in e-commerce, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced digital skills. She noted that youth social activities would be prioritized to encourage young people to contribute to society by fostering volunteerism and producing an active and engaged generation.

Her second priority focuses on building stronger family institutions by addressing the needs of women, single mothers, and caregivers of vulnerable family members, pledging to serve as a 'bridge' to ensure these groups do not miss out on government assistance and initiatives. Felicia highlighted the challenges some people face with the digitalization of government initiatives and expressed her determination to help them by going to the ground.

Felicia's third priority is improving the welfare of senior citizens by creating a harmonious, active, and healthy living environment. She plans to expand healthcare and health awareness programmes focused on preventing chronic diseases and improving health management for senior citizens. Additionally, she aims to improve public facilities to make them more accessible for seniors and persons with disabilities.

Finally, her fourth priority is empowering the local community by promoting the history, culture, and unique identity of Batu Pahat through programmes that stimulate the local economy via creative community-based activities. Felicia aspires for Batu Pahat, especially the Penggaram constituency, to gain recognition for its unique food, multicultural harmony, and rich cultural heritage.
