Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contracts on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives saw a notable increase as they closed higher on Wednesday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the August 2026 contract rose by 12 points to settle at 1,751.0. The September 2026 contract gained 16 points, reaching 1,736.5, while the December 2026 contract added 16.5 points to close at 1,737.0. Additionally, the March 2027 contract jumped 17.50 points, closing at 1,720.5.
The turnover increased substantially to 111,565 lots, compared to Monday's close of 43,170 lots. Open interest also expanded significantly, rising to 159,186 contracts from the previous figure of 83,842. At the end of the trading day, the FBM KLCI index surged 12.21 points to 1,748.54, up from Monday's close of 1,736.33.
