KLCI Futures Experience Decline Across All Contracts

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today. The trading session saw a decrease in futures contracts for various months, with each contract experiencing a drop in points.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the July 2026 and December 2026 contracts fell 5.0 points each to 1,680.0 and 1,662.0, respectively. The August 2026 contract saw a decrease of 3.0 points to 1,681.50, while the September 2026 contract fell 4.5 points to 1,660.50. Despite the decline in futures points, turnover increased significantly to 5,574 lots compared to 4,503 lots on Tuesday, indicating heightened trading activity. Additionally, open interest saw a rise to 36,179 contracts from the previous 33,657 contracts.

By the end of the trading day at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI index inched up slightly by 0.68 of a point to close at 1,683.61, compared to Tuesday's close of 1,682.93.
