KTMB Unveils Special Ramadan and Aidilfitri Train Services with Ticket Sales Starting Tomorrow

Kuala lumpur: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced the introduction of special train services for Ramadan and Aidilfitri in 2026, aiming to facilitate travel for Malaysians during these festive periods. The services include the Ramadan 2026 edition of the Railway to See Malaysia (RTSM) excursion train on the KL Sentral-Tumpat-KL Sentral route, and the Ekspres Lambaian Aidilfitri (ELA) service targeting the East Coast and Northern routes.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, tickets for these services will be available for purchase starting at noon tomorrow. The initiative is intended to help the public plan their journeys home during Ramadan and prepare for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations in a more comfortable manner.

KTMB's statement highlights that the special Ramadan Edition service will operate on specific dates: February 20 and March 6 for the KL Sentral-Tumpat route, and February 22 and March 8 for the Tumpat-KL Sentral route. A total of 1,584 tickets will be offered, including sleeper coaches.

For the ELA service on the East Coast route, trains will operate on March 18 for the KL Sentral-Tumpat route and on March 22 for the Tumpat-KL Sentral route, with 792 tickets available, including sleeper coaches.

The statement further mentions that the services will include superior sleeper coaches with 120 berths per journey, along with Premier Class and Superior Class seating options to provide passengers with more comfort and flexibility. One-way fares start at RM80 for Superior Class, with sleeper berth prices at RM90 (upper berth) and RM95 (lower berth), and Premier Class fares at RM95.

Both the RTSM Ramadan 2026 edition and the East Coast edition ELA service will make stops at 17 stations, including key locations such as KL Sentral, Bandar Tasik Selatan, and Tumpat.

Moreover, the Northern edition ELA service on the KL Sentral-Padang Besar-KL Sentral route will offer four services, providing 1,200 tickets for Superior Class seating at RM70 one-way. This service will operate on March 17 and March 22 for the KL Sentral-Padang Besar route, and March 18 and March 23 for the Padang Besar-KL Sentral route, stopping at 12 stations including Ipoh and Padang Besar.

KTMB Group CEO Datuk Azlan Shah Al Bakri emphasized that these special trains during the festive season are part of KTMB's commitment to enhancing national mobility. He noted the role of rail transport in reducing road congestion and ensuring a safer travel experience.

KTMB advises the public to plan their journeys early and purchase tickets through cashless methods via the KTMB Mobile (KITS) application, kiosk machines, ticket counters, and the official website, or by contacting the KTMB Call Centre or visiting their official media channels for more information.
