Kuala Lumpur: The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) has announced that it will provide a one-time financial assistance of RM500 to those receiving the MAIWP Cost of Living Aid, in anticipation of the upcoming Aidiladha celebrations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, confirmed that this aid for the year 1446H/2025 will be disbursed to eligible recipients this Friday. The initiative, set to coincide with the festivities of Hari Raya Aidiladha, aims to alleviate the financial burden on recipients and their families as they prepare for the celebrations.

Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar stated in a Facebook post that the disbursement will take place on June 6, 2025, which corresponds with 9 Zulhijjah 1446H, a significant date as it falls on a Friday. This gesture of support is intended to assist families in managing their expenses during this important religious occasion.

Assistant Secretary of the Conference of Rulers, Datuk Mohd Aseral Jusman, had earlier announced that Muslims in Malaysia would observe Aidiladha this Saturday, aligning with the Islamic calendar and ensuring preparations are in full swing for the celebration.
