Man Arrested After Clinging to Moving Car in Viral Video

Bandar seri alam: Police have arrested a local man to assist in investigations into a viral incident in which he was seen clinging to a moving car in Bandar Seri Alam near here. Seri Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Sohaimi Ishak stated that the 30-year-old suspect was detained at 2 am today along Jalan Persisiran Seri Alam. A urine test later found him positive for ketamine.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the incident, which circulated widely on social media, occurred at about 3.30 pm yesterday (Feb 28) and is believed to have been triggered by a dispute with his ex-wife. 'The argument reportedly began at a supermarket in Bandar Seri Alam before the man climbed onto the bonnet and held onto the front of the vehicle driven by the woman, causing him to fall,' Mohd Sohaimi said in a statement.

He further explained that the woman drove slowly for about two kilometres before the car was stopped by a group of individuals believed to be acquaintances of the suspect. The group allegedly smashed the car window, threatened the woman, and seized her belongings.

Mohd Sohaimi added that the suspect, who has no prior criminal record, has been remanded for seven days starting today to facilitate investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 384 and Section 427 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
