Kuala lumpur: Preacher Marhamah Rosli, newly appointed Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), was sworn in as a Senator before Senate president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah this afternoon.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Awang Bemee, in his welcoming speech, stated that the new appointment was made by the King of Malaysia under Article 45(1)(b) of the Federal Constitution. The appointment takes effect from today and will last until December 15, 2028, in accordance with Articles 45(3) and 45(3A).
Awang Bemee extended his highest congratulations to Marhamah Rosli on behalf of the Senate and wished her well in carrying out her responsibilities.
In related developments, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced a reshuffle of the MADANI Government, featuring a combination of portfolio realignments and new appointments.
